Mercedes Benz has introduced the latest QR codes, which is designed to aid the paramedics and the firefighters in getting important data while saving the victims in a car crash. These QR codes direct the smartphones to a web page and show them how to cut the parts of the vehicle so that the passengers can be freed without hurting them.

The QR codes in Mercedes Benz might also be patented soon so that this latest innovation can be used free of charge by other users. Till now, if the vehicle is damaged badly, then the emergency workers usually call the registration plate to get all the details. Thus, you would get details of where the airbags the tanks, the battery, the electric cables, the high pressure cylinders, and other such important car components are located. If it is a hybrid model, the place where the additional batteries are located is also mentioned. The high voltage cables get a mention too in the details.

This information is required to save the lives because when it is an emergency, every little bit of help matters and every second is precious. Mercedes Benz would now stick a QR code in the interiors of the petrol tank flap. There would be another code on the pillar between the two doors on the other side of the car. During an accident, either the petrol tank or the pillar gets damaged. Very rarely both get destroyed, hence the company has decided on such a positioning.

QR codes are a Japanese invention and were introduced by a car parts maker from Japan in the year 1994. There are many other companies like Extraction Zone, Field Applications, and Moditech, which offer information in digital form. But a QR code gives the added advantage of saving time in matching a vehicle to the App’s library.

QR codes in Mercedes Benz are the latest car technology to hit the market, which are quite an intrigue for car lovers.
